The time has come for my horse, Mickey, to venture into a new chapter of his life.
Mickey is a wonderful dressage horse. He has an excellent work ethic, a beautiful soft mouth, and natural rhythm in all of his paces. Best of all, Mickey is the most comfortable horse I have ever ridden. He feels light in his body, making riding him feel effortless, and yet he feels powerful at the same time. I took my time starting Mickey and he has solidly established basics and is able to walk, trot and canter with softness and in independent balance. Mickey can do all sorts of figures in the arena; loops, serpentines, shoulder fore, walk to canter transitions and counter canter with ease. He enjoys cross training when I incorporate poles and cavalettis into our working regime.
Mickey has learnt all of the In-hand and lunging work featured on Manolo Mendez’s DVD “An Introduction to Working In-hand”. He was used in the DVD to illustrate the transition of a young horse from in-hand to saddle work.
Mickey is clever and cheeky. He has a very playful personality. He likes to have fun and keep an eye on everything that’s going on.
Mickey is an athletic, sound, healthy horse and a very good doer. He has great feet that do not require shoes. He is sensible in the paddock, and does not require much feed to keep him in optimum condition.
Mickey would be best suited to someone who wants a versatile horse and will enjoy the quirks in his personality as I have. I would like Mickey to go to a home where he will be ridden in different disciplines such as jumping, trail riding and dressage. Unfortunately, I am not able to do these things with him therefore I have made the difficult decision to sell him.
I am looking for the best of homes for my close friend, we have been together since he was born and I will miss him dearly.
